Waterproofing: Most quality outdoor LED screens have high ingress protection (IP) ratings, typically IP65 or IP66. IP65 means they are dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction, while IP66 can handle powerful jets or heavy rain. However, they are not submersible.
UV resistance: The display's housing, face cover, and silicone potting are treated with UV stabilizers and coatings to resist degradation from sunlight. This prevents yellowing, cracking, or loss of structural integrity for several years (often 5–10+). However, prolonged intense UV exposure will eventually cause some fading of black materials or slight reduction in brightness and contrast.
